The mission and purpose of live events (conferences, meetings, seminars, etc.) has always been to allow the participants to exchange views and opinions; perhaps the most important element, however, was that participants had the opportunity to experience these unique events in person. Interpersonal contact is, after all, irreplaceable by definition.

Given the global pandemic that our country is also going through, and after an entire year of strict bans on physical conferences, our sector is demanding that they restart as soon as possible.
Podium was able to react swiftly to the prohibitions; in our effort to maintain close links to our clients, we entered into an exclusive agreement with a professional digital platform that is able to cover their needs for remote events, with or without remote simultaneous interpreting.
Either way, Podium is here to offer all of the services you may need.
A very interesting targeted survey took place in our neighbouring Italy, posing four crucially important questions to representatives of the conference sector:
When will in-person events resume, in your opinion; are your clients already planning accordingly?
A very large number of requests has been put in for the summer, and for the period from September to December 2021, as well as for year 2022. A strong revival is expected this September. Major multinational companies are requesting hybrid events with live streaming capabilities.
What is required, at this stage, in order to restart physical meetings and events?
Specific dates are required, so that the interested parties have time to prepare. Many professional associations in our sector are already in discussions with the government, and request the drafting of a strict protocol that will allow in-person events to take place in safety.
What do you think will be the ratio of digital and live events after the end of the pandemic?
A significant percentage of hybrid events will remain in the future. Digital events, considered a poor second choice by organizers until recently, will be preserved, as they can increase the number of participants and reduce travel, accommodation and other expenses significantly (air tickets, etc.).
So, every cloud does have a silver lining. Either way, Podium is here to offer all of the services you may need.
